Come and taste the wines from sun kissed vineyards and delight in the amazing food pairings in a fun and conversational English class. We will be tasting 3 wines from the Backsberg wine estate. Backsberg boasts over one hundred years and four generations of winegrowing on their historic family-owned wine estate in Paarl, South Africa.
We will start with the celebrated Chenin Blanc, paired with a creamy, spicy avocado ritz (Garnelen). 2nd on the tasting list is a slightly sweeter Rose. This will be paired with sharp cheeses and cold meats. Last, but far from least, we will taste my favourite red wine and South Africa’s signature Pinotage. Pinotage is a wonderful, full bodied red wine that goes well with red meat, especially lamb.
