Lass den stressigen Arbeitsalltag hinter Dir und tanke neue Energie. Wir treffen uns in Eilsbrunn am Gemeindehaus und während wir zum Aussichtspunkt hinaufsteigen, sprechen wir Englisch. Oben angekommen genießen wir den Ausblick und vertiefen unsere Themen. Nach unserem Abstieg gibt es ein kühles Getränk im ältesten Wirtshaus der Welt. Cape Town South Africa has a diversity of cultures and cultural food. These are some of the favourites of the South African Capetonians. Learn how to make a lovely fresh Avocado Ritz which includes whole avocados and a tangy mayonnaise shrimp (Garnelen – Schalentiere) salad. Followed by the iconic and flavourful Bobotie which is a savoury baked dish of curried mincemeat with an egg topping with yellow rice (curcuma reis). And last, but far from least, for dessert Malva Pudding which is a delicious baked dessert with syrupy apricot jam. Served with fresh cream or custard. To accompany the food, we will be tasting a South African Chardonnay. With its typical notes of citrus and tropical fruit, this wine can provide a refreshing counterpoint to the spicy and savory flavors of the Bobotie. Its full body and often oaky character can also match the weight of the dish. Enjoy the culinary delights and get a feeling of the warm hospitality of Cape Town South Africa during our course. Come and taste the wines from sun kissed vineyards and delight in the amazing food pairings in a fun and conversational English class. We will be tasting 3 wines from the Backsberg wine estate. Backsberg boasts over one hundred years and four generations of winegrowing on their historic family-owned wine estate in Paarl, South Africa. We will start with the celebrated Chenin Blanc, paired with a creamy, spicy avocado ritz (Garnelen). 2nd on the tasting list is a slightly sweeter Rose. This will be paired with sharp cheeses and cold meats. Last, but far from least, we will taste my favourite red wine and South Africa’s signature Pinotage. Pinotage is a wonderful, full bodied red wine that goes well with red meat, especially lamb. Join in on the light-hearted conversation with a Native English South African.
