Hunt, Brigitte
Training and instruction is a passion of mine, not just a job. I feel that language learning should be interesting and fun. That way our brains take in the grammar and vocabulary more easily. I like to teach using interesting topics of conversation and current media such as events, movies, books and music.

South African Kitchen
Imagine you are on holiday in South Africa and you are at a traditional South African home for dinner.
: Let's savor some of the delicious and iconic South African dishes:
- Creamy Butternut Soup: This rich and flavorful soup, often considered the national soup of South Africa, will warm your soul with its creamy texture and hint of spice. It's the perfect appetizer to start the meal.
- Curry Bunnies: A mouthwatering street food delight, curry bunnies are essentially deep-fried bread rolls filled with curried beef mince. The combination of soft bread and flavorful curry makes it a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
- Melktert (Milktart): For dessert, indulge in a slice of Melktert, a traditional South African dessert. It can be served either baked or chilled, and its smooth, custard-like filling with a touch of cinnamon on top is sure to please your taste buds.
- Pinotage Wine: To accompany the mildly spicy flavors of the meal, a glass of South Africa's very own Pinotage wine would be a perfect choice. Pinotage is a unique red wine grape variety that was created in South Africa, and it pairs wonderfully with the diverse flavors of the cuisine.
Enjoy the culinary delights and get a feeling of the warm hospitality of South Africa during our course. Bon appétit!
South African Wines
Come and taste the wines from sun kissed vineyards and delight in the amazing food pairings in a fun and conversational English class. We will be tasting 3 wines from the Backsberg wine estate. Backsberg boasts over one hundred years and four generations of winegrowing on their historic family-owned wine estate in Paarl, South Africa.
We will start with the celebrated Chenin Blanc, paired with a creamy, spicy avocado ritz (Garnelen). 2nd on the tasting list is a slightly sweeter Rose. This will be paired with sharp cheeses and cold meats. Last, but far from least, we will taste my favourite red wine and South Africa’s signature Pinotage. Pinotage is a wonderful, full bodied red wine that goes well with red meat, especially lamb.
Join in on the light-hearted conversation with a Native English South African.
